Vodafone Attenzione permette di collegarsi ad Internet tramite Apple iPhone anche senza averlo richiesto MA…

Ecco arrivare l’ennesima modifica alle politiche aziendali che andrà a gravare sulle tasche degli utenti. L’operatore telefonico questa volta coinvolto in quello che consideriamo davvero un colpo basso è la Vodafone. L’azienda avrebbe infatti da poco effettuato delle modifiche alle proprie politiche interne decidendo di permettere la navigazione su Internet dal proprio Apple iPhone anche senza aver stipulato nessun apposito abbonamento. Ricordiamo che fino ad ora la navigazione internet era possibile solo a seguito dell’attivazione sul proprio dispositivo della Mobile Internet per iPhone o per i possessori di un piano telefonico in abbonamento.

Vodafone ha affermato che la scelta di permettere la connessione internet anche senza aver attivato l’apposita promozione o aver stipulato un contratto ad abbonamento è stata dettata dalla volontà di non precludere ad un’ampia fetta di utenti la possibilità di navigare, seppur in modo occasionale; a noi invece pare un’ottima trovata per approfittare degli utenti sprovveduti che ignari di tali modifiche vedranno inevitabilmente scalati dal proprio conto fior di quattrini.
A seguito di un’ulteriore telefonata a Vodafone da parte di noi di Guida iPhone ci è stato confermato che la possibilità di navigare occasionalmente pagando 1.50€ al giorno in cambio di soli 100 MB di traffico Internet sarà disponibile solo per tutti quegli utenti che almeno una volta hanno attivato la promozione Mobile Internet per iPhone. Ci è anche stato confermato che potrebbero essere applicate pesanti tariffe giornaliere navigando su Internet tramite l’utilizzo di APN non vodafone.

Alla beffa si aggiunge anche il danno e qualora la soglia dei 100 MB di traffico Internet giornalieri venga superata saremo costretti a pagare nuovamente quanto già pagato in precedenza. Detto questo, nel caso in cui abbiate attivato almeno una volta la promozione Mobile Internet per iPhone, disdetta poi per qualsiasi motivo, di provvedere a bloccare ogni connessione ad internet dal vostro iPhone. Controllate il vostro traffico residuo e qualora sospettiate che qualcosa non torni, chiamate il 190 e chiedete informazioni.

Sony Ericsson 'Julie' With WP7 Leaked

Looks like it's the season of leaked phones. It was just days ago that the Sony Ericsson Shakira a.k.a the Xpeira X8 was leaked. This is apart from the string of Motorola and BlackBerry related leaks in the recent past. Well, now it's the turn of yet another Sony Ericsson phone, the "Julie" to be leaked (Chinese link).
The different thing about this "leak" is that this time around, no picture of the phone has been leaked. The "Julie" is rumoured to be a Windows Phone 7 device and will be dimensionally  similar to the existing Xperia X10.
The phone is likely to sport a 1Ghz processor and there is a possibility of a QWERTY keyboard on the device as well. It is also likely to support multitouch gestures.
As of now, there is no word as to when we would be seeing this phone in the flesh. Since there is still some time left for the first Windows Phone 7 based phone to be launched, we're not expecting this one before the end of 2010.

i8520 Samsung's Halo Officially Revealed

Samsung has unveiled its latest Android based handset, the i8520 at the ongoing CommunicAsia  Expo in Singapore.
The i8520 was first revealed at the Mobile World Congress in February 2010. It hogged the headlines back then owing to one unique feature it sported. The phone has a pico projector at the rear that will enable it to project images on to the nearest wall.
The phone is a full fledged smartphone that is set to run Android 2.1. It has a 3.7-inch super AMOLED display and an 8 megapixel camera as well. Like its contemporaries, the phone will also record and playback HD videos. The HD recording is capped at 30fps. It also has a front VGA front camera that would be used for video calling purposes.

The i8520 will support native DivX and Xvid playback support. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 2.1 and 802.11b/g/n support for Wi-Fi. It will feature a 3.5-mm headphone jack and with 16GB of internal storage and microSD expansion slot, storage should not be problem. It would be a Quad Band phone with support for GSM/EDGE as well as for tri-band UMTS 900/1900/2100.
This device will pack in all the above mentioned features plus a pico projector in a slim body. The phone is slated to go on sale in Singapore soon. Pricing and availability details for other locations are currently unavailable.

All HTC Hero Phones Android 2.1 for Across Europe

 

HTC has formally announced that it will be offering the Android 2.1 update for its now old Android workhorse, the Hero.
Users of the HTC Hero in Europe would soon receive a notification on their phones regarding the availability of the update. The Over-the-air update process can be performed over Wi-Fi, 3G or even GPRS. Once you receive the prompt, simply press OK and the rest should be cakewalk.
Once installed, you might want to check the build number of the update. To do that, from the Home Screen, go to MENU> Settings> About Phone> Build number. The new Build number after the update will be 2.73.405.93; 2.73.405.94 (Nordic) and 2.73.405.95 (Greece/ Ireland).

Motorola Droid X Dwarfs the Evo 4G

If you thought the HTC Evo 4G was the biggest handset you could buy this side of Mercury, be prepared for this shocker of a phone from Motorola. The Droid X, its upcoming Android flagship phone has been pictured next to an Evo 4G and it is evident from the picture that the Droid X simply dwarfs the (already) large Evo 4G.

The Droid X was, until now, thought to sport a smaller 3.7-inch display like its cousin, the upcoming Droid 2. However, the screen size of Motorola Droid X is now confirmed to be 4.3-inch, just like the one on HTC Evo 4G. This latest leaked image shows the Droid X, the HTC Evo 4G and the iPhone 4 together in one frame, thereby clearing all doubts regarding the size of these phones. The Droid X being the flagship will also get an 8 megapixel camera with Dual LED flash, HD Video recording, HDMI out and Android 2.2 on launch.
